HT-SB500

Sharp already has a surprisingly good 2.1 channel HT-SB300 model on its rack. Now it adds a center channel, making HT-SB500 the latest deal in soundbar innovations under Sharp’s technology.

The HT-SB500 which was announced in September 2009 and available to consumers in December 2009 sports left and right speakers, a center channel and subwoofer, all within a stylish chassis that complements the latest LCD flat panel tv designs. Its front panel control utilizes Sharp’s Touch Panel technology to complete the demand for ultimate convenience.

It is amazing what this 32-watt soundbar can do. It decodes DTS, Dolby® Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and Dolby Virtual Speaker. Dolby Virtual Speaker effectively simulates 5.1 channel surround sound without the need for a multi-component system that causes messy wiring.

HT-SB500 also includes the SRS TruSurround HD that virtualizes channels. It boasts a superior multichannel surround sound effect with deep bass and crystal clear high frequency reproduction. Setup is also simple and flexible with dual audio inputs, right and left RCA jacks and a 3.5mm sub mini jack which allows a second audio source, such as an MP3 player. A remote control is also included and it can simultaneously control a Sharp AQUOS® LCD TV, a programmed equalizer and an auto on/off function. The HB-SB500 can be placed on a tv stand to complement an LCD of at least 32” or wall mounted. A surprisingly convenient addition? The stand-up mounting feet and wall mounting plates are also included!

It retails at $349.99 and is available December 2009 onwards.
