Design and Build

At 76.2 x 5.3 x 6.9cm, the majority K2 soundbar is a sleek ultra-modern bar with a metal mesh finish on the front. It weighs 7.42 pounds, has an inbuilt radio and multi connections at the back and on the sides. It connects to RCA, AUX, Bluetooth, HDMI ARC, USB. The K2 soundbar comes in two colours – black and white.

The soundbar has a wall mounting provision so you can fit it on the wall. However, if you are planning to use the HDMI port you may need to mount it at an elevation for easy use of the port which is not well recessed and may be difficult to use when the soundbar is mounted. If you are not mounting, you can place the soundbar near your TV, below or behind instead of the front.

The soundbar has a display part in the front that shows what mode the bar is in at a particular point. It also helps you switch around the different modes. The display is quite clear and can be seen from any distance.

The subwoofer looks good with its plastic finish and its wireless. It can be placed anywhere in the room within range and connected to the soundbar via BlueTooth.

High-Spec Wireless Subwoofer

The soundbar and wireless subwoofer are both lightweight and medium sized so you don’t need a lot of space for them. You can actually fit them in the least amount of space compared to other speakers.

Besides, the subwoofer can be placed anywhere in the room, so you’re not struggling to fit it near the TV.

The ports behind the soundbar are hard to easily switch around especially when it is mounted, so you should consider that before mounting or as you set up the system for your sound experience.

The easy set up and the settings give provision for customising the output.

Controls

The controls are located on the side and the back. The ones on the side include the power button, volume buttons, mode button, USB control and the line in.

Majority K2 Soundbar and Wireless Subwoofer Review 1

The back has the optical input, subwoofer output, HDMI ARC input, DC power input and FM Antenna.

The sound bar comes with remote control and it has these controls;- the power, bass and treble buttons, EQ, skip back, skip forward and FM Radio (Mode).

Connectivity

Before connecting the soundbar and the subwoofer you will need to plug them both to power. The K2 sound bar connects to the subwoofer via bluetooth so you don’t need to have them close to each other and you don’t have to worry about wires.

You can actually place the subwoofer anywhere you feel fit in the room, for as long as it has a power plug for it.

How you connect the soundbar to your TV depends entirely on your preference. The soundbar offers you 3 options for connecting which are:- using the RCA cable, Optical Audio, HDMI ARC. For older TVs, you may want to stick to the RCA cable.

The K2 soundbar has a range of connections that allow you to connect music, movies and anything with ease. The connections include:- Bluetooth, HDMI ARC, RCA, USB input, AUX-input and the optical Input.

The bar is compatible with TVs, PCs, MP3 players, projectors, and a couple of other things. You can connect the setup to music, dialogues, movies, etc.

Whichever connection you are using, you can easily switch from one mode to another using the remote or the mode button.

There are EQ presets but they are not all that, so you may want to use the treble and bass adjust buttons or the remote for a full experience.

The subwoofer is perfect, it fills the room with clean HD sound and of course, the surround sound is unmatched so far. When you turn on the set up for the very first time, it detects the soundbar and automatically pairs with it.

The K2 soundbar’s set doesn’t really connect to Google assistant and Alexa. If your smart set up has that, you may have a challenge using this system.

Performance

Majority made the K2 Soundbar in such an exquisite way to offer good quality sound and high definition surround sound without  affecting your sound experience.

You will still have clear dialogues and beats from your streaming. With its high definition sound technology it gives you the full blown sound experience.

If you want a home theatre experience, the soundbar has adjustment options for the bass and treble that will somewhat give you that feel. The bass is not so good, so don’t be overly expectant.

The soundbar also has three EQ presets that you can switch between for your experience. It gets loud by volume 12 but the sound is still crisp and clear. The volume goes up to 32.

Superior sound

If you are a radio person, the K2 soundbar comes with an inbuilt FM Radio that you switch on via the mode button or remote.

When you are using the radio function you will have to auto-scan to get all the radio stations. The FM is between 87.5 – 108 MHz and you may have to adjust the signals with the FM Antenna.

The K2 Sound bar inputs are good for both older and new TVs. If you are using the HDMI ARC, you can turn on and off the soundbar with the TV automatically.

The soundbar’s bluetooth can connect to almost any device, even another woofer if you wish to. When you set it up via bluetooth, a device will detect it and ask to pair automatically.

Audiophiles will be greatly pleased with the subwoofer’s performance, though bass lovers will definitely have mixed feelings.

Overall the soundbar and the subwoofer both have good stereo sound separation and a great sound mix that gives great clarity and depth.

Competition

Like any other sound gadget the K2 soundbar doesn’t come without competition and for this review, we compare the K2 to the Sony SRS-XB12 Mini Bluetooth Speaker and the Sony HTXT1 2.1-Channel TV Base Speaker with Built-in Subwoofer

Denon DHT-S716 Soundbar with Subwoofer

Also sleek in design and has a 2.1 channel like the K2. However, it has limited connections and its way costly. In terms of performance, they are both on the same level, crisp clean and high definition surround sound.

Denon DHT-S716 Soundbar

Sony HT-S350 soundbar with wireless subwoofer

Compared to the K2, this is still costly. It has dolby digital compatibility  and clean sound but that’s all there is to it. Otherwise the K2 is way better.

Conclusion

The  Majority K2 SoundBar and Wireless Subwoofer is a good deal for anyone looking to enhance their TV sound. For Audiophiles and for anyone looking for crisp sound in dialogues this is perfect. If you are on a budget, this is a solid deal for you; good sound and sleek make all in one.

However if you are looking for extra bass, this is not for you but generally the set up greatly improves your overall TV sound.

The FM function on the soundbar seems unnecessary though but if you’re into radio then this is for you.

Also when you purchase the K2 soundbar, you contribute to a tree in the majority forest; majority promised that for every soundbar, it would plant a tree.

Then if you register your purchase with majority you get a 36 month warranty on the soundbar and subwoofer.
